BILL (NYSE: BILL), a financial software platform serving nearly half a million businesses, announced it has surpassed $2 trillion in cumulative total payment volume (TPV) since its founding, with approximately $1 billion in payments flowing through its platform on an average day.
The company defines TPV as the total value of transactions processed across its platform, including BILL AP/AR customers, BILL Divvy Card transactions, and Embedded Solutions and Other customers, presented gross of payments that may be subsequently reversed.
"This $2 trillion milestone belongs to the businesses and firms that have trusted BILL with their most important financial work, and we thank every one of them," said René Lacerte, CEO and Founder of BILL. "Together, we have built an ecosystem of SMBs, accounting firms, suppliers and partners at scale."
According to the company's press release, its AI-powered platform has automated approximately 1.2 million invoices across more than 9 million data fields in the past year, with roughly 90% fewer coding steps and about 50% faster processing. The platform also collected more than 240,000 W-9s automatically during that period.
In the first six months of calendar year 2026, BILL's systems blocked 9.64 million fraudulent attempts, which the company says represented $925 million in potential losses for customers.
BILL is headquartered in San Jose, California, and describes its member network as exceeding 9 million. The company says its platform processes approximately 1% of U.S. GDP annually.
