Expand Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: EXE) has appointed Daniel E. Brown as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 26, the company announced. Brown will also join the Board of Directors.
Michael A. Wichterich, who has served as Interim President and CEO since February 2026, will return to his role as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board following Brown's appointment.
Brown joins Expand Energy from Chord Energy (NASDAQ: CHRD), where he served as President, CEO, and board member. Before Chord Energy, he spent nearly 20 years at Anadarko Petroleum, holding leadership roles across international and deepwater development and U.S. onshore operations.
"Expand Energy is unmatched with its scaled portfolio of premier assets in the most important gas-producing regions, enhanced by a differentiated commercial platform that serves customers from coast to coast," Brown said. "The opportunity ahead for value creation is significant."
Wichterich said in a statement that Brown has "a proven track record of leading high-performing organizations through transformation, and a demonstrated ability to create significant shareholder value."
The appointment followed a search led by Expand Energy's Board with the assistance of an outside search firm, evaluating both internal and external candidates.
Expand Energy is based in Spring, Texas, and describes itself as the largest natural gas producer in North America.
