Jack Henry to integrate with Google Cloud's ledger for tokenized deposits

October 16, 2026 11:01 AM EDT

Jack Henry & Associates (Nasdaq: JKHY) announced an expansion of its collaboration with Google Cloud to enable banks and credit unions to offer tokenized deposits through Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL), according to a company press release.

Jack Henry claims it will be the first core banking technology provider to integrate with GCUL, a fully managed distributed ledger service that allows financial institutions to tokenize and transfer money and assets on a shared, real-time record with programmable, 24/7 settlement capabilities.

The integration is intended to allow community and regional banks and credit unions to access deposit retention tools, programmable payment workflows, near real-time settlement, and automated clearing and multilateral netting without requiring pre-funded accounts.

"Tokenized deposits have the potential to reshape how money moves across the financial ecosystem," said Jack Henry Chief Technology Officer Ben Metz. "By expanding our work with Google Cloud and serving as the first core technology provider to use GCUL, we're helping community banks and credit unions explore new opportunities."

James Tromans, director of Web3 and Digital Assets at Google Cloud, said the collaboration aims to bring advanced digital asset capabilities to smaller financial institutions. "Google Cloud Universal Ledger provides a secure and scalable foundation for programmable value exchange," he said.

Jack Henry and Google Cloud established their strategic relationship in 2022. The two companies expanded that relationship in June 2025 to deliver AI-driven security capabilities targeting cyber threats facing banks and credit unions.

Jack Henry serves more than 7,200 financial institution clients and is an S&P 500 company based in Monett, Missouri.
