TruGolf acquires Polymath to enter digital securities market

October 16, 2026 8:30 AM EDT

TruGolf Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUG), known for indoor golf simulation products, has completed its acquisition of Polymath Research Inc. and its Layer-1 blockchain network, Polymesh, according to a statement based on an editorial distributed by AINewsWire.

The acquisition places TruGolf in the regulated tokenization and digital securities infrastructure market. Polymesh is designed to embed identity verification, transfer restrictions, and regulatory controls directly into a blockchain ledger, addressing compliance requirements for assets that carry securities obligations.

TruGolf said it plans to test the infrastructure within its own franchise network. Separately, Polymath announced it is exploring a tokenized film investment platform with CineCity Studios, which operates a 140,000-square-foot production facility in Chicago.

The press release references comments by BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, who has predicted that every stock and bond will eventually trade on a tokenized ledger, and a Forbes report from August noting institutional interest in a market that some observers estimate could reach $13 trillion.

TruGolf was founded in 1983 and has historically focused on golf simulation hardware, software, and its e-sports platform, E6 Connect.
