Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL), the Bristol, UK-based electric aviation company, has signed long-term supplier agreements with ANH Structure Co., Ltd. and Northrop Grumman LITEF GmbH to provide seating and navigation systems for its Valo electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, according to a company statement.
Under the agreement, South Korea-based ANH Structure will design, develop, certify and manufacture pilot and passenger seating for the Valo. The seats will incorporate ANH's 30G energy-absorption technology and be built across a common platform covering pilot, observer and passenger configurations. ANH holds both Design Organisation Approval and Production Organisation Approval from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Northrop Grumman LITEF, a German subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Corporation, will supply its LCR-110 inertial reference system, which provides position, attitude and heading data to flight-critical systems. The LCR-110 holds approvals from both EASA and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
The two agreements expand Vertical's existing supplier network, which includes Honeywell Aerospace, Sonaca, Evolito, Hyundai WIA, Synesqo, Isoclima and Astronics.
Vertical's Valo platform is being developed in four- and six-passenger cabin configurations, with electric, hybrid-electric and autonomous variants targeting commercial and defense markets. The company reports approximately 1,500 pre-orders from customers including American Airlines, Avolon, Bristow, GOL and Japan Airlines.
Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace, said the additions "add further strength to the world-class supplier ecosystem behind Valo and supports our strategy to deliver one versatile platform across multiple cabin configurations and missions."
