Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ: SYNA) announced that Esther Song resigned from her roles as Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, effective October 28, 2026, to pursue other opportunities. The company stated her resignation was not related to any disagreement over operations, accounting, or company policies.
The company appointed Kermit Nolan, its Vice President of Finance, to serve as Principal Accounting Officer, also effective October 28, 2026. Nolan will not receive additional compensation for the role.
Nolan, 67, initially returned to Synaptics under a consulting agreement beginning June 10, 2026, to support the company's internal finance organization. He became a full-time employee on September 1, 2026, following the departure of the company's Chief Financial Officer.
Nolan previously served as a consultant to Synaptics from February 2024 to September 2024 during an earlier CFO transition. Before retiring at the end of 2023, he had served as the company's Corporate Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer since February 2019. During his 20-year tenure at the company, he held roles including interim Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Corporate Controller, and member of the Executive Leadership Committee during a CEO transition.
