Slew of analyst comments sends Take-Two (TTWO) up 4% ahead of November earnings and GTV 6
Take-Two Interactive Software Inc stock is rallying nearly 3.9% in mid-day trading to reach $209.04, as a cluster of same-day and overnight analyst actions provided a powerful counterweight to the sell-off that had pushed the stock down more than 20% year-to-date. The most prominent catalyst today is a maintained Buy rating from Bank of America Securities analyst Omar Dessouky, who carries a $368 price target on the stock — the highest among major tracked analysts — underpinned by a bullish view on GTA VI Online's long-term monetization potential and the franchise's ability to generate outsized lifetime value per player relative to competing live-service ecosystems.
Adding to the positive tone, StoneX reiterated its Buy rating and $300 price target today, characterizing the stock's recent weakness as an opportunity ahead of what it views as a transformative product cycle. Raymond James similarly stood firm on its Strong Buy call and $300 target, arguing that concerns about GTA VI PC platform leaks and build disclosures pose limited commercial risk — with casual console players largely unaware of the leaks and the core audience unlikely to be deterred. These reiterations come directly on the heels of a sharp decline on October 13, when the stock shed roughly 5% on reports of a potential GTA VI PC release window in fiscal Q4 2027 and renewed leak-related anxiety.
Citi analysts pointed to comments made by Rockstar's head of publishing, Jennifer Kolbe, in a Bloomberg interview on Oct. 14, in which she indicated that GTA VI did not cost "more than $1.5 billion" to produce. The analyst noted that Take-Two's balance sheet shows $2.4 billion in capitalized software and development costs as of the second calendar quarter of 2026. With GTA VI accounting for no more than $1.5 billion of that figure, Bazinet estimates that approximately $900 million in capitalized costs are unrelated to GTA VI, which he described as a record amount. Based on this, Bazinet suggested that Take-Two could release another major title in 2027 or 2028, drawing a comparison to the eight-year gap between Red Dead Redemption, released in 2010, and Red Dead Redemption II, released in 2018. The analyst said a similar timeline could point to a new Red Dead release in that window, which he indicated may address investor concerns about non-GAAP earnings per share performance following GTA VI's release.
