Wolfspeed, Inc. (NYSE: WOLF) and Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) have expanded and extended their existing long-term silicon carbide wafer supply agreement to include 200 mm wafers, adding to the current 150 mm supply arrangement, according to a joint press release.
The two companies said the supply relationship spans more than 20 years. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"The strong relationship between Wolfspeed and Infineon has paved the way for this expanded and extended agreement," said Robert Feurle, CEO of Wolfspeed. "The addition of 200 mm wafers builds on that foundation as we continue to support Infineon's long-term silicon carbide needs."
According to the Yole Power SiC 2026 – Markets and Applications report, the global silicon carbide power device market is projected to grow from $3.4 billion in 2024 to $11.1 billion by 2031.
