Sealed Air Corporation announced it has expanded closed-cell polyethylene foam manufacturing capacity at its Madera, California, facility, according to a company press release dated Oct. 15, 2026.
The expansion adds to Sealed Air's specialty foam footprint in Madera and is intended to serve fabricators, distributors and end users across North America and Latin America through its U.S.-based manufacturing network. The company also operates specialty foam manufacturing in Europe and Asia.
The Madera facility produces Ethafoam and Stratocell closed-cell polyethylene foam sheet materials, which are used in industrial, automotive, electronics, medical and other applications requiring cushioning, blocking, bracing and product protection.
"We heard from customers and fabricators that dependable access to closed-cell PE foam is essential, and this investment is a direct response to that need," said Byron Racki, President of Protective Packaging at Sealed Air. "Expanding capacity in Madera reinforces our commitment to the fabricated foam market while adding to the global manufacturing network and expertise we use to support customers around the world."
Sealed Air said the added capacity is also intended to help balance demand across its operations, improve manufacturing efficiency and support innovation.
