Cerence Inc. (NASDAQ: CRNC) and Geely are expanding their existing collaboration from intelligent cockpits into service robotics, according to a press release from Cerence AI. The two companies are working together to develop multilingual human-machine interaction for robotics applications.

The partnership's public debut took place at the Paris Motor Show, where the companies demonstrated a humanoid robot. Cerence AI's multilingual speech recognition supports French, English, and Mandarin simultaneously, allowing users to interact in their preferred language.

"For decades, Cerence AI has helped people communicate naturally with the machines they rely on every day," said Christian Mentz, Chief Revenue Officer at Cerence AI. "Through our collaboration with Geely, we are bringing proven human-machine interaction technologies into the emerging robotics space and helping shape the future of how people engage with these intelligent systems."

The expansion moves Cerence AI's conversational AI technology beyond its established automotive applications into physical AI and robotics. Cerence AI is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, and states that more than 525 million cars have shipped with its technology.
