Oncolytics updates GOBLET study timeline, expects PanCAN grant payment

Oncolytics Biotech Inc. (Nasdaq: ONCY) provided an update on its GOBLET Phase 1/2 clinical study on Oct. 14, 2026, stating it expects to receive a final grant payment from the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) before the end of the quarter, following the completion of certain activities in Cohort 5 of the study.

The company said enrollment in the GOBLET study is complete and it is winding down the broader study infrastructure while continuing patient treatment and follow-up. Final results from Cohort 4, which evaluates pelareorep with atezolizumab in patients with second-line and later squamous cell anal carcinoma, are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Initial results from Cohort 5, which evaluates pelareorep-based therapy in combination with chemotherapy with and without atezolizumab in patients with first-line metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, are expected in the first half of 2027, though that timeline could be extended as multiple patients continue treatment and follow-up.

Chief Medical Officer Thomas Heineman, MD, PhD, said that median overall survival in Cohort 4 exceeds the company's expectations, and that the full data set is still being processed. He noted that efficacy data from Cohort 5, including overall survival and duration of response, continue to mature.

According to the press release, each GOBLET cohort that enrolled the required number of patients met its pre-specified success criteria for efficacy. The GOBLET study is being conducted at 17 centers in Germany and is managed by AIO-Studien-gGmbH.

Oncolytics stated it plans to use the clinical data from the study to guide its strategy for combining pelareorep with a checkpoint inhibitor in gastrointestinal and additional tumor types. Pelareorep has received Fast Track designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for colorectal, anal, and pancreatic cancer.
