Booking Holdings launches AI travel agent Vayo with up to $100M planned

October 14, 2026 8:58 AM EDT

Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG) announced the launch of Vayo, a new AI-based personal travel agent, with a planned investment of up to $100 million, subject to continued product development and market conditions.

Vayo opened a private beta waitlist on Oct. 14, 2026, initially targeting frequent travelers. The service is designed to consolidate trip details — including flights, hotels, activities and reservations — pulled from a user's inbox, and to monitor for changes such as flight delays that could affect other bookings.

Mike Fridgen, CEO and co-founder of Vayo, said: "With the backing of Booking Holdings, we're building a personal travel agent that understands the entire trip, knows how you travel and never stops working for you."

Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings, said: "Vayo is exploring how AI can anticipate needs to make planning and managing a trip more seamless."

Vayo is structured as a standalone company within the Booking Holdings portfolio, which also includes Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, KAYAK and OpenTable. According to the company, Vayo is designed to work across those platforms as well as bookings made directly with airlines, hotels and other travel providers.

The private beta offers free, invite-only access. Vayo said it accesses only travel confirmation emails needed to manage trips, keeping the remainder of a user's inbox private.

The company said it plans to add direct booking capability, a native mobile app and multi-traveler trip planning in the coming months.
