QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB), announced a new program called QNX Launchpad aimed at giving startups and early-stage companies access to its commercial software platform at reduced costs.
The program provides qualifying companies with access to QNX Software Development Platform 8.0, QNX OS, QNX OS for Safety, QNX Hypervisor, QNX Hypervisor for Safety, QNX Sound, and other products from the QNX portfolio. Participants also receive technical support, embedded engineering expertise, and access to an ecosystem of hardware and software tools.
QNX Launchpad is open to startups and small and medium-sized businesses with annual revenues of up to $10 million that are developing a product for commercial sale. Companies affiliated with a recognized incubator or accelerator program are eligible for additional benefits.
"Too many promising companies are forced to make foundational software decisions based on short-term budget realities, rather than what their products will ultimately need to perform safely and reliably in the real world," said Grant Courville, SVP of Product and Strategy at QNX.
The program complements QNX Everywhere, an existing initiative that provides free, non-commercial access for learning, evaluation, and prototyping. Companies may apply to QNX Launchpad directly or after participating in QNX Everywhere.
