Investing.com -- BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK) reported third-quarter earnings before the open on Wednesday, sending shares around 4% higher premarket.
Adjusted earnings per share came in at $15.93, surpassing the analyst consensus of $14.30, while revenue of $7.75 billion exceeded estimates of $7.43 billion. The asset manager posted revenue growth of 19% compared to the same quarter last year, driven by strong net inflows and market gains.
The firm attracted $205 billion of net inflows during the quarter, reflecting broad-based strength across iShares ETFs, systematic active equities, private markets, and cash management. This contributed to 11% annualized organic base fee growth in the quarter.
Assets under management reached $15.5 trillion, up 15% from $13.5 trillion in the third quarter of 2025, following $869 billion of net inflows over the last twelve months.
"BlackRock's results demonstrate the value of our integrated platform, as clients increasingly choose us as a partner across investing, financing, and technology," said Laurence D. Fink, Chairman and CEO. "That client trust is translating into higher earnings power, with shareholders benefiting from a more than 35% increase in adjusted earnings per share year-over-year, a 47.8% adjusted operating margin, and 11% annualized organic base fee growth in the third quarter."
The company reported GAAP diluted EPS of $10.57, compared to $8.43 in the prior-year quarter, representing 25% growth. Adjusted operating income increased 27% YoY to $3.33 billion, with the adjusted operating margin expanding to 47.8% from 44.6%.
Technology services and subscription revenue grew 14% YoY to $588 million, driven by continued momentum in Aladdin and multi-product solutions. Investment advisory performance fees totaled $630 million, up from $516 million in the year-ago quarter, primarily reflecting higher revenue from liquid alternative products.
Long-term net inflows of $175 billion included $135 billion into ETFs and $66 billion into active strategies. The company's active investment performance remained strong, with 92% of systematic equity AUM and 71% of taxable fixed income AUM above benchmark or peer median over the one-year period.
