Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) announced two new 1.6T Ethernet test platforms — the Switch and Edge Router Tester (SERT) 1600GE and AresONE Plus 1600GE — designed to validate AI data center and hyperscale networking infrastructure before production deployment.
The AresONE Plus 1600GE delivers eight 1.6T Ethernet ports in a single 2U chassis, generating 12.8T of line-rate traffic at 64 bytes. It supports 1600GE PAM4 signaling over 224G SerDes with backward compatibility to 112G, and offers flexible port breakout configurations. The platform integrates with Keysight's AI Data Center Builder software for AI workload emulation, including mix-of-experts emulation and support for RoCEv2, Priority Flow Control, Explicit Congestion Notification, and Ultra Ethernet Consortium protocols.
The SERT 1600GE targets data center switch fabric and edge router validation, available in an eight-port 2U configuration. Both platforms support Border Gateway Protocol, Equal-Cost Multipath, Virtual Extensible LAN, and SONiC validation, and can be time-synchronized using Precision Time Protocol for larger test topologies.
Keysight said the two platforms were developed in collaboration with Nvidia to validate the Nvidia Spectrum-6 Ethernet Switch. Gilad Shainer, Senior Vice President of Networking at Nvidia, said: "Keysight's validation capabilities help engineering teams emulate realistic AI traffic and test Spectrum-X-based fabrics before deployment, reducing time to market."
Ram Periakaruppan, Vice President and General Manager of Network Test and Security Solutions at Keysight, said: "As engineering teams and operators race to upgrade AI infrastructure to 1.6T Ethernet, they need to emulate the broader AI system throughout the development process — from early design and device qualification to system-level validation and AI rack deployment."
Keysight is demonstrating both platforms at the Open Compute Project Global Summit in San Jose, California, through October 15.
