Enerflex Ltd. (NYSE: EFXT) has been awarded a contract to design, engineer, fabricate, and assemble more than one gigawatt of natural gas-fired power generation units for a large-scale North American data center development, according to a company press release dated Oct. 13, 2026.
The new award, combined with approximately 450 megawatts in contracts announced Oct. 1, 2026, brings Enerflex's total backlog of behind-the-meter natural gas-fired power generation to more than 1.75 gigawatts, with deliveries scheduled through 2028.
The projects will be executed through Enerflex's North American manufacturing operations. The Calgary-based company said it has authorized approximately $100 million in investments in its Engineered Systems facilities and capabilities to support execution of the backlog, of which $15 million is included in its 2026 capital expenditure guidance.
President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Mahoney said: "The demand for reliable, prime power that does not require grid connection, supporting artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure development, continues to grow."
Beyond initial equipment delivery, Enerflex said the backlog creates opportunities for commissioning, installation, and after-market services, including digital solutions through its ReliaCore Asset Performance Management platform.
