CME Group (NASDAQ: CME) said it has completed initial performance testing for CME Globex in the cloud and announced several milestones in its ongoing market migration, according to a press release dated Oct. 12, 2026.
The Aurora Cloud Region and co-location facility, which will host Google Cloud's specialized trading platform, is being constructed ahead of schedule and is targeted to be available for client testing in mid-2027. A Dallas disaster recovery facility has been open for testing since June 2026.
CME Group said livestock market migration to the cloud will take place out of the Aurora Cloud Region in late 2027, eliminating the need for an interim relocation to Dallas that had previously been planned.
The company also reported faster round-trip times for trading as a result of the cloud-based performance testing.
"Given the accelerated timeline on our Aurora Cloud Region as well as strong initial performance testing, we will deliver the first cloud-based solution for ultra-low latency trading sooner than expected," said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Terry Duffy. "We will work to ensure our clients can access both Google Cloud-managed services and co-location capabilities in Aurora in late 2027."
