FuelCell Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: FCEL) has appointed John Dansby as Senior Vice President of Scale Up Manufacturing, according to a company press release.
Dansby will oversee the company's manufacturing scale-up strategy, including expanding its Torrington, Conn., facility to support 500 megawatts of annual production capacity, with a mandate to develop systems for growth beyond that threshold.
Dansby brings more than two decades of experience in high-volume global manufacturing operations. He most recently served as Global Vice President of Operations for Residential and Light Commercial at Carrier Corporation. He previously held senior roles at Polaris, where he led a manufacturing turnaround that tripled site output, and at Harley-Davidson, where he directed manufacturing across seven global locations. He also spent more than a decade in leadership positions at General Motors.
Jason Few, President and Chief Executive Officer of FuelCell Energy, said in the statement: "Customers increasingly need reliable power that can be deployed quickly and accepted by communities. Converting that opportunity into growth requires manufacturing scale, speed, quality and capital discipline. Our objective is to build repeatable processes that allow us to grow responsibly."
Dansby said his focus will be "creating a manufacturing system that can scale reliably with customer demand."
