SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) announced the VaultIC409, a secure element built on the company's QS7001 platform, which is currently undergoing Common Criteria EAL5+ certification. The product is designed to support post-quantum cryptography standards for connected devices in markets including smart metering, industrial gateways and IoT.
VaultIC409 is designed to support ML-KEM (FIPS 203) for quantum-resistant key establishment and ML-DSA (FIPS 204) for digital signatures, alongside established RSA and ECC algorithms. The chip includes a hardware Root of Trust, dedicated cryptographic acceleration and a Serial Peripheral Interface for handling larger data sets associated with post-quantum cryptographic protocols.
According to the company, VaultIC409 targets the same markets as its predecessor, VaultIC408, giving existing customers a migration path to post-quantum security without a full hardware redesign.
"VaultIC409 gives our customers a direct path to post-quantum security on a certified platform they already know," said Carlos Moreira, founder and CEO of SEALSQ. "With new EU and U.S. security requirements approaching, manufacturers need to prepare their products now."
SEALSQ plans to demonstrate the product at the Electronica trade show in Munich from November 10 to 13, 2026, at Hall C6 – 670, using a TLS 1.3 application. Engineering samples are expected to be available in Q2 2027.
The company cited the European Union's Cyber Resilience Act and the U.S. National Security Agency's Commercial National Security Algorithm Suite 2.0 as regulatory frameworks the product is designed to help manufacturers address.
