EquipmentShare.com Inc (Nasdaq: EQPT) issued a statement rejecting allegations made in a short seller report, calling the claims false, misleading, and defamatory.
The Columbia, Missouri-based construction equipment rental company said the report contains "demonstrably false statements," presents speculation as fact, and draws "sensationalist and unsupported conclusions" about its business and operations. The company also alleged the report's authors relied on paid sources with potential grievances against the company and biased financial interests.
"EquipmentShare remains fully confident in its business model, performance, financial reporting, and strategic direction," the company said in its statement. "We stand behind our operations and disclosures and remain focused on serving our customers and delivering value to all of our stakeholders."
The company did not identify the authors of the short seller report or specify which allegations it was disputing. EquipmentShare was founded in 2015 and operates as a construction technology and equipment solutions provider across the United States.
