Aurora Mobile's JPush deployed by Shennong Group for farm alerts

Aurora Mobile Limited (NASDAQ: JG) announced a partnership with Yunnan Shennong Agricultural Industry Group Co., Ltd. (605296.SS) to deploy JPush, its push notification solution, to support message delivery across Shennong Group's agricultural operations.

Shennong Group operates an integrated agricultural business spanning feed production, livestock farming, slaughtering, and further processing. The company has been adopting IoT technologies and mobile applications to manage operations across its value chain.

A key challenge addressed by the deployment involves background app restrictions on employee smartphones. When business apps remain idle, operating systems may suspend or close them, blocking or delaying alerts such as abnormal temperature readings from farm environmental control equipment or urgent supply chain instructions.

JPush integrates system-level push channels from device manufacturers including Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Meizu, ASUS, and NIO Phone, as well as FCM and APNs. It supports Android, iOS, HarmonyOS, QuickApp, and Web platforms. Through channel selection, the solution routes high-priority alerts over system-level channels even when apps are suspended in the background.

According to the announcement, the deployment has improved the flow of business information through Shennong Group's mobile platform, from farm monitoring alerts to operational updates for retail stores. Standardized APIs are said to reduce development and maintenance costs associated with connecting to individual manufacturers' push channels.

Aurora Mobile, founded in 2011 and based in Shenzhen, China, provides customer engagement and marketing technology services. This announcement is based on a company press release.
