EverQuote, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVER) published a white paper examining the potential impact of personal AI agents on property and casualty insurance distribution, according to a company statement dated Oct. 8, 2026.
The paper, titled "Agentic Barbarians at the Carriers' Gates - Personal AI Agents and the Future of P&C Insurance Distribution," covers topics including how agentic AI shopping may affect consumer behavior, carrier customer acquisition and retention strategies, and regulatory considerations.
The white paper draws on EverQuote's internal analysis, secondary research, and discussions with U.S. insurance carriers. It outlines considerations for carriers adapting their distribution strategies, including risks the company identifies as adverse selection, policy life compression, and regulatory exposure.
"Agentic AI has the potential to shift insurance distribution in the U.S. and fundamentally change how consumers compare policy options, how often they shop, and how insurers compete for and retain their business," said Jayme Mendal, CEO of EverQuote.
EverQuote is based in Cambridge, Mass., and operates an online insurance marketplace connecting consumers with insurance providers.
