Citi analyst Samantha Semenkow reiterated a Buy rating and $17.00 price target on Biohaven Pharma (NYSE: BHVN) following the company's announcement of a regional licensing agreement with Ono Pharmaceutical.
Under the deal, Ono Pharmaceutical receives rights to Biohaven's MoDE pan-IgG degrader portfolio, including lead asset BHV-1300 and next-generation candidates BHV-1310 and BHV-1320, across Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and ASEAN markets. Biohaven retains rights in the U.S., Europe, China, and the rest of the world.
The agreement provides Biohaven with up to $100M in near-term capital, consisting of an $80M upfront payment and a potential $20M milestone payment within one year, along with approximately 20% royalties.
Semenkow called the deal "the first regional licensing deal for the extracellular protein degrader platform," adding that it provides "incremental external validation of Biohaven's MoDE technology beyond the encouraging clinical data generated to date."
