October 8, 2026 8:36 AM EDT

Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) announced a $105 million investment to expand its Nucor Towers & Structures facility in Crawfordsville, Indiana, pending regulatory and other approvals.

The expansion will add more than 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space and increase capacity to produce utility poles and related products. The project is expected to create 100 jobs with average annual wages of $87,500. The facility currently employs 328 workers.

"The expansion of our Indiana facility reflects the strong demand we are seeing in the utility market," said Leon Topalian, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Nucor. "Utilities across the country are making significant investments to modernize the electric grid and meet growing electricity demand."

The expanded facility will incorporate advanced automation, modern production equipment, and updated manufacturing technologies.

Nucor Towers & Structures was formed in 2022 following Nucor's acquisition of Summit Utility Structures LLC, which operated a facility in Pennsylvania. Nucor subsequently built Towers & Structures facilities in Alabama and Indiana and is currently constructing another facility in Utah.

Nucor employs approximately 2,600 workers at more than a dozen locations across Indiana, according to a company press release.
