Western Union (NYSE: WU) and Publix Super Markets announced a renewed agreement to continue offering money transfer, money order, and bill payment services at Publix store locations across the southeastern United States, according to a press release from the companies.
The renewed deal extends a relationship of more than two decades. Under the agreement, customers at Publix locations can access domestic and international money transfers, bill payments, and money orders through Western Union's network, which spans more than 200 countries and territories.
The agreement also covers Publix's expansion into Kentucky, where Western Union services will be available at new store locations. Publix currently operates 1,432 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky.
"For years, Publix has helped us meet customers where they are by providing convenient access to money movement and payment services in communities across the Southeast," said Jesse Mory, Western Union's Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. "This renewed agreement reflects the strength of our long-standing relationship and our shared commitment to delivering reliable, accessible financial services for customers."
Publix is an employee-owned company with more than 260,000 associates.
