General Dynamics Land Systems, a unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), and Primordial Labs announced a master teaming agreement to integrate natural language command and control technology into ground combat vehicles, according to a press release issued Oct. 7, 2026.
The agreement pairs General Dynamics Land Systems with Primordial Labs' software platform, Anura, which allows vehicle crews to direct on-board systems by stating their goals verbally rather than navigating manual controls. Primordial Labs will expand Anura's integration across the General Dynamics Land Systems vehicle portfolio, including the Abrams tank and next-generation combat vehicles.
Anura interacts with on-board subsystems including sensors, displays, communications, and uncrewed systems. The software operates without cloud connectivity, making it functional in communications-denied environments.
"We see natural-language control as a critical enabler of greater lethality with a smaller crew size, reduced physical workloads and increased cognitive performance for maneuver combat teams," said Keith Barclay, vice president and general manager of U.S. operations at General Dynamics Land Systems.
Lee Ritholtz, CEO of Primordial Labs, said the partnership targets Army and Marine Corps requirements for soldiers to control systems across formations intuitively, reducing cognitive, physical, and training burdens on crews.
