October 7, 2026 10:01 AM EDT

Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) announced a set of updates to its Webex platform at its WebexOne 2026 event in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 7, 2026, introducing AI agent capabilities across collaboration, workplace management, and customer experience.

Among the new features is integration with Anthropic's Claude through Claude Managed Agents, which allows teams to analyze data, generate content, and execute tasks within Webex using shared enterprise context. Cisco also announced an integration with OpenAI's dots personal agent, bringing Webex context into that tool via a Model Context Protocol connection.

Cisco introduced Dialog, a new agentic harness for its Webex AI Agent platform designed to connect customer interactions across channels and time. Dialog includes features for long-horizon task execution, persistent customer context, and self-learning from past interactions.

On the workplace side, Cisco announced RoomOS 27, scheduled for release in November, which adds support for Google Meet natively on Cisco devices, joining existing support for Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. The AI Assistant on collaboration devices will support 32 languages under the new release. Cisco also introduced the Ceiling Speaker Pro, a network-connected audio device that integrates with existing Cisco room hardware.

New workplace management tools include Workplace Designer for visual space planning, Workplace Insights for space utilization tracking through Cisco Cloud Control, and Experience Metrics extensions that correlate network performance data with floor plan and occupancy information.

Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco, said: "When people and agents share the same context, work keeps moving and every customer relationship gets stronger."

Webex AI Agents operate within safety guardrails provided by Cisco AI Defense, with telemetry and observability powered by Splunk.
