Deutsche Bank warns SolarEdge recovery may stumble on high interest rates

October 7, 2026 9:17 AM EDT

Investing.com -- Deutsche Bank has issued a short-term negative tactical call on SolarEdge Technologies (NASDAQ: SEDG), warning that consensus expectations for core business growth remain overoptimistic despite mounting sector headwinds, according to research from analyst Corinne Blanchard.

The firm’s tactical stance stems from anticipated weakness in core revenue expansion across key markets in the coming quarters. While persistent high interest rates in the U.S. continue to weigh heavily on overall solar demand appetite and project economics, Deutsche Bank expects these domestic macro headwinds to be only partially offset by European market trends, particularly within the energy storage segment.

Deutsche Bank’s updated models place its top-line forecasts noticeably below Wall Street consensus for both near-term and forward estimates. The bank’s fourth-quarter 2026 revenue estimate sits 2% below current consensus, while its full-year 2027 revenue projection sits 5% below Wall Street expectations.

Investor sentiment on SolarEdge continues to skew negative across execution, macroeconomic conditions, and core business growth. Like industry peer Enphase Energy, SEDG shares have fallen 23% over the past three months. However, Deutsche Bank maintains that current market pricing does not fully capture the upcoming downside risks to fourth-quarter 2026 and full-year 2027 forecasts.

Blanchard highlighted two key November events as primary catalysts for a potential downward reset in Wall Street’s expectations:

The first trigger is SolarEdge’s upcoming third-quarter 2026 earnings release, estimated for November 4, where management guidance is expected to clarify forward revenue trajectories. The second is the RE+ conference from November 16–19, one of the largest solar and clean energy events, which will provide additional management commentary, industry feedback, and broader macroeconomic context heading into 2027.
