Marex Group Limited (NASDAQ: MRX) announced that Robert Pickering has stepped down as Chair of the Board following a three-year term, with John Pietrowicz named as his successor.
Pickering joined the Marex board in September 2021, became Senior Independent Director in March 2022, and assumed the role of Chair in October 2023. His tenure included the company's IPO on the Nasdaq exchange in April 2024.
Pietrowicz, who joined the Marex board in April 2024, previously served as Chief Financial Officer of CME Group from 2014 to 2023. He also chairs the Group's Mergers and Acquisitions Committee. The company said Pickering will work with Pietrowicz to facilitate the transition.
Pickering said in a statement that Marex had evolved "from a small private company into a Nasdaq-listed business with a market capitalization in excess of $5 billion" during his five years with the group.
Group CEO Ian Lowitt credited Pickering with guiding the firm through its listing process and subsequent growth, and said he looks forward to working with Pietrowicz in the new role.
Marex provides market access, clearing, and liquidity services across commodity and financial markets, operating in more than 50 offices worldwide with over 3,000 employees.
