Halozyme expands argenx deal to cover two more drug targets

October 6, 2026 4:05 PM EDT

Halozyme Therapeutics (NASDAQ: HALO) has expanded its global collaboration and license agreement with argenx to include two additional exclusive targets using its ENHANZE® drug delivery technology, according to a press release from the San Diego-based company.

The expansion increases argenx's exclusive access to ENHANZE from six to eight targets. The technology is used to develop subcutaneous formulations of injectable drugs, allowing patients to receive treatments outside of clinical settings.

The two companies previously worked together to develop VYVGART Hytrulo, a subcutaneous treatment for myasthenia gravis and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.

Under the terms of the expanded agreement, Halozyme is eligible to receive milestone payments and royalties on net sales of any products developed using ENHANZE for the two new targets. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Helen Torley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Halozyme, said the expansion "strengthens our growing portfolio of partnered programs." Arjen Lemmen, Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy at argenx, said the expanded partnership would allow the company to "bring that same focus on patient experience to more of our pipeline."

Halozyme licenses ENHANZE to multiple pharmaceutical companies, including Roche, Pfizer, Janssen, AbbVie, Eli Lilly, and Bristol-Myers Squibb, among others.
