FedEx Dataworks and Stripe announce SMB financing collaboration

October 6, 2026 10:00 AM EDT

FedEx Dataworks and Stripe have announced a long-term strategic collaboration aimed at expanding financing access for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), according to a joint press release from the two companies.

The partnership will combine supply chain data from the FedEx network with Stripe's financial infrastructure. The first joint solution is planned for launch in early 2027. FedEx Corp. trades on the NYSE under the ticker NYSE: FDX.

A core element of the collaboration involves using FedEx Dataworks logistics signals — such as shipment activity, inventory movement, and fulfillment performance — to inform financing decisions through Stripe Capital. The companies say this approach is intended to help SMB customers access funding based on operational indicators rather than traditional metrics like bank statements and credit scores.

"Every day, FedEx helps move more than $2 trillion in global commerce, giving us unique visibility into how businesses operate," said Vishal Talwar, executive vice president and chief digital and information officer of FedEx Corp. and president of FedEx Dataworks.

"Together, we can turn the operational momentum of a small business, like shipping a thousand packages a week, into access to growth finance through Stripe Capital," said John Collison, co-founder and president of Stripe.

As part of the arrangement, FedEx will also begin using Stripe to process payments, adding more than 50 new payment methods to its checkouts globally.

Stripe processes over $1.9 trillion in payments annually. FedEx reported annual revenue of $86 billion and employs more than 450,000 people worldwide.
