Kodiak AI, Inc. (Nasdaq: KDK) reported that its Autonomy Readiness Measure, an internal metric tracking the completion of its safety case for driverless long-haul operations, reached 96% at the end of September 2026, up from 93% at the end of August.
The Mountain View, California-based company said it remains on track to launch unsupervised driverless long-haul commercial trucking service by the end of 2026. The ARM measures the percentage of claims and evidence in Kodiak's safety case that are materially complete.
According to the company's statement, the metric has risen five percentage points in two months, compared with an ARM of 84% in February, 86% in April, 91% in July, and 93% in August.
"We are on track to launch driverless long-haul service by the end of 2026, and our momentum is building," said Don Burnette, founder and CEO of Kodiak. "September was our best month yet for closing safety case claims."
Frank Fratrik, Director of Safety at Kodiak, said remaining work includes completing a long-haul risk assessment using the company's Probabilistic Risk Assessment methodology, verifying the launch vehicle configuration, and demonstrating how the truck can maintain safety at highway speeds.
Kodiak said its long-haul safety case builds on work completed for its industrial deployment in the Permian Basin, where 35 unsupervised driverless trucks owned and operated by customer Atlas Energy Solutions had been deployed as of the end of the second quarter of 2026.
