Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) announced the launch of Mobile Card Design Studio, a feature within the Wells Fargo Mobile app that allows customers to personalize eligible debit cards using photos uploaded directly from their phone.
Customers can select images from their phone's photo library or choose from a curated gallery of designs. The feature allows users to create, preview, and submit a custom debit card design without leaving the mobile app.
"For many customers, a debit card is more than a payment tool; it's something they use every day and carry everywhere," said John Durrant, head of Consumer Banking at Wells Fargo. "A personalized debit card can make everyday banking feel more meaningful."
Wells Fargo noted that the bank reserves the right to reject submitted images, including those containing third-party trademarks, copyrighted materials, or the likeness of public figures.
The announcement also referenced a separate recent update in which the bank expanded mobile access to its ExpressSend service, allowing eligible customers to send international money transfers through the app.
