Thinx, a period underwear brand owned by Kimberly-Clark (NASDAQ: KMB), announced the launch of Butterfly Shorts, an athleisure-inspired product that combines leakproof period protection with everyday wearability, according to a company press release.
The Butterfly Shorts are designed to be worn as outerwear rather than as an undergarment. The product offers leakproof protection for up to 12 hours, is made with Coolcore breathable mesh fabric, and features an absorbent gusset described as suitable for overnight protection. The shorts are available in sizes XS through 4X.
Nicole Pawlukowsky, vice president of Thinx, said: "By bringing trusted Thinx protection to athleisure, we're creating a new way to feel comfortable, confident, and ready for whatever the day brings."
The product is described as an adult extension of an existing Butterfly Shorts style previously offered for teens. Thinx Butterfly Shorts became available Oct. 6, 2026, exclusively at Thinx.com for $56.
Thinx describes itself as the number-one-selling reusable period underwear brand, based on grocery, drug, mass, and dollar units over 52 weeks through Sept. 5, 2026.
