Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) announced the availability of the Philips Sonicare Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 Prestige electric toothbrush on Amazon, priced at $379.99. The product, first unveiled in July 2026, features on-device AI and machine learning technology that provides real-time brushing guidance without requiring a smartphone app.
The toothbrush includes a 12-segment Smart Mouth Map displayed on the handle, a light ring guidance system offering feedback on coverage, pressure, and scrubbing patterns, and a SenseIQ pressure sensing system that adjusts brushing intensity. The device offers 8 modes and 3 intensities and is available in Silver White, Onyx Black, and Satin Mauve.
A companion model, the Next-Generation DiamondClean 8500, is also available on Amazon at $249.99, featuring 6 modes and 3 intensities in Powder White, Black, and Blossom Pink. Both models include a rechargeable travel case and charging glass and are part of Philips Sonicare's broader 2026 portfolio refresh.
According to a Philips Sonicare survey conducted by Wakefield Research in May 2026 among 1,000 U.S. adults, 82% of Americans reported multitasking during nighttime routines, and 47% said they rush through brushing as a result. The survey also found that while 91% said their teeth feel clean after brushing, 66% believe they miss areas.
In a Sonicare user test involving 153 participants over two weeks, 85% agreed the toothbrush helped improve their brushing, and 92% said the Smart Coverage Feedback increased their awareness of cleaned and uncleaned areas.
Both models are listed for release on October 5, 2026, and use brush heads in which 70% of plastic content is attributed to bio-based plastic on a mass balance basis, according to the company.
