Elutia Inc. (Nasdaq: ELUT) announced it has received an $8 million escrow payment from Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), completing a holdback period tied to the October 2025 sale of its BioEnvelope business for $88 million.
The payment was released with no indemnity claims following the one-year holdback period. Elutia said the company is now funded through the first full year of its planned NXT-41x commercial launch and into 2029, without the need for an equity offering.
The escrow release is the third of three funding milestones the company outlined in its second quarter earnings release. The other two were the closing of an Avenue Capital loan facility on August 11, 2026, and the divestiture of its SimpliDerm business on August 17, 2026.
"We said we would fund the Company through the NXT-41x launch, and in one quarter we did," said Dr. Randy Mills, CEO of Elutia. "Every milestone we named has landed."
NXT-41x is Elutia's antibiotic-eluting surgical matrix being developed for the plastic and reconstructive surgery market. The company said it continues to expect an FDA clearance decision for the product in the first half of 2027. Elutia cited an independent survey of 50 board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons conducted in August 2026, in which 96% expressed interest in using NXT-41x.
