Backblaze, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLZE) has released updates to its Business Computer Backup product that expand how Jamf administrators deploy and manage backup across Mac device fleets, according to a company statement.
The update adds two methods for matching devices to users: one for environments where user data is available upfront, and another that detects logged-in users dynamically. The change is intended to reduce deployment failures in environments where user data is incomplete or inconsistent.
Natasha Rabinov, General Manager of Computer Backup at Backblaze, said the update allows backup to be "deployed and managed through the same workflows, so protection is consistent across every device without adding more work for IT."
Henry Patel, Chief Strategy Officer at Jamf, noted that matching devices to the correct user is a common challenge when scaling Mac fleet deployments. "That's the problem Jamf and Backblaze are solving for our joint customers," he said.
The updated deployment approach is available now as part of Backblaze Computer Backup and supports silent installs, automation, and existing Jamf policies. Pricing details are available on the Backblaze website.
