PolyPid Ltd. (NASDAQ: PYPD) and ADVANZ PHARMA have mutually agreed to terminate their 2022 exclusive License, Distribution and Supply Agreement for D-PLEX₁₀₀ in Europe, according to a company statement. As a result, the European commercialization rights for the drug have reverted to PolyPid.
The original agreement was signed in 2022. Since then, PolyPid said it completed its Phase 3 SHIELD II trial, submitted a New Drug Application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, filed with the European Medicines Agency, and entered into a North American commercialization partnership with Azurity Pharmaceuticals.
"We appreciate the collaboration with the ADVANZ PHARMA team over the past several years and thank them for working with us to reach a mutually agreeable conclusion," said Dikla Czaczkes Akselbrad, Chief Executive Officer of PolyPid.
D-PLEX₁₀₀ is being developed for the prevention of surgical site infections. PolyPid is based in Petach Tikva, Israel.
