Eaton celebrated the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Schrems, Austria, on Oct. 1, adding 5,000 square meters of production space completed in under ten months, according to a company press release.
The expanded site introduces fully automated miniature circuit breaker production and increased low-voltage systems assembly capacity. The facility incorporates a manufacturing execution system (MES) that connects manufacturing, intralogistics and enterprise systems in real time, alongside end-to-end product traceability and integrated quality systems.
Eaton said the expansion is intended to support growing demand from electrification and critical infrastructure markets across Europe, with regional manufacturing offering proximity to European customers and reduced logistics costs.
"This expansion reflects our continued investment in manufacturing, technology and a skilled workforce, adding capacity for the products and solutions our customers rely on every day," said Vincent Barro, member of the executive leadership team EMEA, Electrical Sector at Eaton.
The Schrems site also supports workforce development through partnerships with local schools and Eaton's Connected Learning Center, which opened in 2024, focusing on automation, digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Eaton (NYSE: ETN) reported revenues of $27.4 billion in 2025 and serves customers in 180 countries.
