NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced a set of new hybrid multi-cloud capabilities designed to give enterprises more consistent control across on-premises and cloud environments, according to a company press release.
The new offerings extend the NetApp Platform with autonomous management, data sovereignty controls, and broader fleet management. Key additions include NetApp Keystone Sovereign, which provides data residency and regional governance controls for qualified European Economic Area customers, and NetApp Console Autonomous Operations, which replaces manual administrative workflows with AI-assisted, outcome-based automation that can run in air-gapped environments.
NetApp Console Fleet Management delivers observability and management across a customer's entire infrastructure estate through a second Console delivery model installed directly in the customer's environment. A new ChatOps interface allows IT administrators to interact with storage systems through conversational, intent-based commands while operating within defined governance policies and using an open large language model gateway.
NetApp also announced an expanded partnership with Nutanix, combining NetApp ONTAP with Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure for virtualized workloads. That integrated capability is scheduled to be generally available in fall 2026.
"Your storage architecture dictates how every workload runs," said Sandeep Singh, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Platform at NetApp. "Customers should not have to choose between the performance and control of on-premises infrastructure and the flexibility of cloud."
IDC Group Vice President Dave McCarthy commented that NetApp's approach "brings together autonomous operations, consistent data services, efficiency guarantees, and sovereignty-aware consumption models on a single platform."
