Cheniere Energy (NYSE: LNG) announced that its subsidiary, Cheniere Marketing, LLC, has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas sale and purchase agreement with Petrobras.
Under the agreement, Petrobras will purchase approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Cheniere Marketing on a free-on-board basis for 22 years.
Jack Fusco, Cheniere's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, said the agreement provides "fixed fee cash flow visibility to underpin further brownfield liquefaction capacity growth."
Cheniere operates the Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi liquefaction facilities on the U.S. Gulf Coast, with total production capacity of approximately 56 million tonnes per annum of LNG in operation and an additional approximately 5 million tonnes per annum of expected production capacity under construction.
