September 29, 2026 8:08 AM EDT

Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) has hired Michael D. Brasseur, a 26-year U.S. Navy veteran and founding Commodore of Task Force 59, as an executive vice president, according to a company statement.

Task Force 59 was the Navy's first dedicated unit for unmanned systems and AI. Under Brasseur's command, the unit reached full operational capability in under 18 months and logged more than 35,000 hours employing maritime robotics above, on, and below the water.

In his new role, Brasseur will focus on shaping Booz Allen's defense technology business and its partnership and innovation strategies.

Before joining Booz Allen, Brasseur served as Chief Strategy Officer at Saab, Inc., where he developed the company's five-year business plan and oversaw its technology roadmap. He also served as General Manager of Saab, Inc.'s AI and autonomy accelerator, Skapa by Saab.

"Throughout my career, I've focused on bringing practical, mission-ready technology to operators who need it right now, not in five years," Brasseur said. "Joining Booz Allen is an opportunity to continue advancing that mission and delivering capability that makes a measurable difference for the nation's warfighters."

Brasseur previously served on the Atlantic Council's Commission on Software-Defined Warfare.
