U.S. Bank has launched two new small business credit cards — the Business Essentials Visa Card and the Business Essentials Plus Visa Signature Card — both offering unlimited 2% cash back on eligible purchases.
The Business Essentials card carries no annual fee, while the Business Essentials Plus card charges $295 annually. Cardholders who pair qualifying balances in a U.S. Bank business checking account can earn up to 2.5% cash back with the standard card or up to 3.5% with the Plus version. The Plus card also automatically earns 5% cash back on a cardholder's top spending category, up to $200,000 annually.
New Business Essentials cardholders can earn a $500 bonus after spending $5,000 in the first 150 days, along with a 0% introductory APR on purchases for the first 12 billing cycles. Business Essentials Plus cardholders can earn a $1,000 bonus after spending $15,000 in the first 150 days.
Both cards include access to U.S. Bank's Spend Management platform, which allows users to capture receipts, track spending, set card controls, and integrate with accounting software. The cards also include U.S. Bank's ExtendPay feature, a fixed-fee payment plan for larger purchases.
Actress and entrepreneur Jessica Alba has been named as U.S. Bank's small business card spokesperson. She will appear in digital and television advertisements for both cards.
"Our new Business Essentials cards offer small business owners straightforward, easy-to-use benefits that help simplify their spending, banking and expense management," said Courtney Kelso, senior executive vice president of Payments, Consumer and Small Business at U.S. Bank.
U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB), the parent company of U.S. Bank, is headquartered in Minneapolis and is the fifth-largest commercial bank in the United States, according to the company's press release.
