Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and osapiens have completed a supply chain transparency program for DS Smith, a packaging company, covering more than 250 plants and facilities across more than 30 countries, according to a press release.
The program was designed to prepare DS Smith for compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which comes into force at the end of 2026. The initiative covers DS Smith's Europe, Middle East, and Africa supply chain, enabling the company to trace EUDR-relevant materials from origin through production and distribution.
Previously separate supply chain systems, supplier onboarding processes, and reporting tools were consolidated into a single platform, the osapiens HUB. Since implementation, more than 25,000 supply chain workflows have been executed, nearly 25,000 land plots have been monitored automatically, and almost 10,000 compliance-related cases have been managed through automated processes. More than 1,000 suppliers were engaged through a single onboarding process.
"Working with Accenture and osapiens, we have built something that works at scale," said Sakis Miliotis, IT director for Paper, Paper Supply Chain, Recycling and Sustainability at DS Smith. "We have a clear, auditable view of EUDR-relevant materials from source to delivery."
Accenture was responsible for process transformation, supplier enablement, systems integration, and program scaling. osapiens provided the technology platform for the initiative.
Accenture and osapiens have also announced an expanded partnership to offer supply chain compliance services to clients in multiple sectors, combining Accenture's consulting capabilities with the osapiens platform for supplier mapping, risk monitoring, and automated compliance management.
