Atlas Energy Solutions Inc. (NYSE: AESI) has announced that two wholly owned subsidiaries have entered into separate cost reimbursement agreements with an unidentified frontier AI lab, alongside equipment purchase agreements for data center power infrastructure.
The first agreement covers balance-of-plant equipment, including emissions control systems, electrical distribution equipment, battery energy storage systems, and other supporting infrastructure tied to Atlas's existing generator orders under its Global Framework Agreement (GFA) with Caterpillar Inc.
The second agreement supports an incremental 283 megawatts of purchase commitments for Caterpillar power generation equipment intended for the initial power ramp of a separate data center project, beyond Atlas's existing GFA obligations with Caterpillar.
Atlas also executed a purchase agreement for 328 megawatts of generating capacity consistent with its GFA obligations, with deliveries scheduled for 2027.
According to the press release, the cost reimbursement agreements allocate equipment to the specific customer and facilitate near-term financing.
John Turner, President and CEO of Atlas, said, "This customer's willingness to enter into cost reimbursement agreements is a clear sign of commitment to these projects as we work together toward the execution of long-term power purchase agreements."
