Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) has entered into two separate agreements for hardware procurement and contract manufacturing, according to a regulatory filing.
On September 23, 2026, Akamai signed a Master Product and Services Agreement with Lenovo Global Technologies Ireland International Limited, under which Lenovo will supply Akamai and certain affiliates with hardware products, software programs, and related services. The agreement carries an initial term of three years, while the accompanying Statement of Work has a seven-year term.
On September 24, 2026, Akamai issued a Build Request under its existing agreement with Jabil Inc., authorizing Jabil to purchase approximately $1.7 billion in memory components. Under the arrangement, Akamai will pay Jabil all corresponding supplier invoice amounts upon receipt of the components. Jabil will hold the components in consignment as bailee for Akamai and will repurchase them at cost as they are utilized.
Akamai disclosed that the Jabil agreement has become material within the meaning of Item 1.01 of Form 8-K, as it is no longer immaterial in amount or significance. Jabil has provided Akamai with contract manufacturing services, including customized server hardware production and related warranty, spare parts, and repair services, since at least 2019.
Full details of both agreements are expected to be filed as exhibits to Akamai's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ending September 30, 2026.
