Cash App, a product of Block, Inc., announced a partnership with Workday that will allow eligible U.S. employees to select Cash App as a direct deposit destination through Workday's Enhanced Direct Deposit experience.
Starting October 1, Cash App will appear as a direct deposit option within Workday's platform, enabling employees to route paychecks into Cash App. The integration is aimed at workers who use Workday's payroll systems across the U.S.
"Employees increasingly expect their financial solutions to be simple, accessible, and integrated into their everyday lives," said Meraj Mohammad, senior director of strategic partnerships at Workday. "Through Workday's Enhanced Direct Deposit experience, we make direct deposit updates more seamless while giving employees more choice in where they receive their pay."
"Direct deposit is one of the clearest signals that customers see Cash App as more than a place to send and receive money," said Morgan Kuntze, global head of partnerships at Block. "By partnering with Workday, we're making it easier for more people to bring their paycheck into Cash App."
According to research published by Block, Inc., 65% of adult freelancers, gig workers, and content creators in the U.S. receive a traditional ACH direct deposit to a bank account. Cash App reported 9.4 million Primary Banking Actives in Q2 2026, a 17% increase year over year. Primary Banking Actives are defined as accounts that receive ACH inflows from earned wages or spend at least $500 per month across Cash App.
