ZenaTech begins drone testing of quantum navigation system for GPS-denied use

September 24, 2026 8:04 AM EDT

ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) announced that its drone subsidiary ZenaDrone has moved its quantum navigation system into the testing phase at manufacturing and testing facilities in Sharjah, UAE.

The system is designed to enable drone operations in environments where GPS or satellite signals are degraded, denied, or spoofed. Initial testing is underway using the IQ Nano indoor drone platform in non-GPS environments. The engineering team is preparing to extend testing to the ZenaDrone 1000, the company's heavy-lift cargo defense drone, and other platforms.

"Operating reliably when GPS and satellite navigation are degraded, denied, or spoofed is a mission-critical requirement for modern defense operations," said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. "Advancing our quantum navigation system into testing is a key milestone toward delivering that redundancy and mission assurance to future defense customers."

According to the company, the system combines quantum inertial sensing with AI-based path correction to maintain positioning without relying on external signals. Once validated, ZenaTech said the technology is expected to be incorporated across selected ZenaDrone defense and commercial drone platforms for applications including surveillance, infrastructure inspection, and defense missions.

The company also noted potential commercial applications in GPS-challenged settings such as dense urban areas, indoor warehouses, underground facilities, and beyond visual line-of-sight missions.
