Starlux Airlines and American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL) launched a codeshare partnership on Sept. 23, 2026, making tickets available for itineraries that connect American Airlines' domestic flights with Starlux's transpacific service to Taipei and onward destinations across Asia.
The initial codeshare covers 20 U.S. cities routed through Phoenix and Los Angeles. Cities accessible via Phoenix include Albuquerque, Austin, Boston, El Paso, Kansas City, San Antonio, San Diego, St. Louis, Tucson, and Washington D.C. (Reagan). Los Angeles connections include New York (JFK) and Miami. Cities served through both hubs include Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Orlando, Chicago O'Hare, and Philadelphia.
The agreement allows passengers to book a single ticket with through-checked baggage to their final destination. The two airlines said they expect to add more connecting cities as the partnership develops.
The codeshare expands on an interline agreement the carriers established in 2025. Starlux and American Airlines are also preparing a reciprocal frequent-flyer arrangement that would allow members of each airline's loyalty program to earn and redeem miles on eligible codeshare flights.
"This codeshare marks an important milestone for Starlux," said Starlux Airlines CEO Glenn Chai. "American Airlines is an ideal partner, with a network across North America that complements what we've built across Asia."
Anmol Bhargava, American's Senior Vice President of Alliances, said: "Taipei remains a top destination for global business, visiting friends and family and leisure travel, and together with Starlux Airlines, we're partnering to provide new travel options."
Starlux currently serves 34 destinations across Europe, the U.S., and Asia. The airline launched a Phoenix–Taipei route earlier in 2026. American Airlines operates more than 6,000 daily flights to more than 350 destinations in more than 60 countries.
