Atlassian Corporation (NASDAQ: TEAM) announced it will submit for Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorization in July 2028, six months ahead of its previous schedule, with a FedRAMP High authorization submission planned for January 2029.
The company also disclosed plans for an air-gapped cloud deployment intended for customers operating at IL6 and above, where complete network isolation is required. Atlassian said it is in technical design discussions with U.S. government customers to develop the solution.
Atlassian said it has established a dedicated public sector business unit, appointing Jen Beatley as Global Head of Public Sector to lead go-to-market efforts. Chief Technology Officer Vikram Rao and Chief Product Officer Ken Exner will oversee enterprise and public sector product development.
"Government customers are navigating the same modernization imperative as every enterprise, but with higher stakes and stricter requirements," said Rao.
The announcements are tied to Atlassian's Data Center products reaching end of life on March 28, 2029. The company stated the new timelines are intended to provide public sector customers with a compliant migration path to Atlassian Cloud before that deadline.
Atlassian also said it is working with European cloud service providers, partners, and customers to develop offerings that address data sovereignty requirements in European markets.
